Our Story

Truth and Faith in Action

Spirit Filled Nation Ministries began with a simple vision: a community gathered to seek God's truth and live it out together. Led by Pastor Lee Hurst, we've grown into a vibrant family of believers, united by our commitment to authentic faith and spiritual growth. We gather to worship, learn, and strengthen our walk with God-continuing the mission that drew us together from the very start.

How it started

Our Vision

Spirit Filled Nation Ministries emerged from a simple calling: to walk in truth and faith, living out the gospel in real time. What began as a passionate commitment to authentic Christ following, our community has grown into a movement where believers gather to encounter God's presence and activate His purpose in their lives and neighborhoods.

SFNM is built on the conviction that genuine truth and faith transforms not just individuals, but entire communities. Whether through weekly gatherings or in homes and public spaces throughout Beach City, the ministry remains focused on equipping believers to live out their faith with boldness and compassion. From prayer and worship to discipleship and outreach, every expression of SFN Ministry reflects the tagline that guides us: Truth and Faith in Action.

We are a non-denominational fellowship committed to the Holy Spirit's leading and to Scripture's authentic teaching. Our story is still being written-not in a single building or program, but in the transformed hearts and renewed neighborhoods of those who say yes to following Jesus. That calling shapes everything we do.

Our Story

Moments that shaped Spirit Filled Nation Ministries

Every ministry has its own story of God's faithfulness. These are the markers we return to when we share ours-anchored in faith and truth in action.

1993

A faithful beginning

Lee is licensed in ministry. He and Cindy began to work with his father John W. Hurst Sr. in ministry. This humble start plants the seeds for what becomes Spirit Filled Nation Ministries.

2023

Change in the midst

After several years working in buildings and others in business we began to feel a call to separate. We looked around and saw where we were and it was not where our Father intended us to be. In December we began looking for what He was telling us to do. In helping a few local church organizations we saw what we always have that man, the flesh in most, will get in the way of His work. We wanted no part of it. After seeking wise counsel all suggested go on your own to build what God has called you to build.

2025

Faith in Action

With encouragement and faith Spirit Filled Nation Ministries was born offering a place that all believers are welcome. We began with Friday night fires and simple gatherings to moving to more formal type settings.

2026

Growing in Faith and Action

Spirit Filled Nation Ministries continues to expand its reach. Worship gatherings at 10:30 AM on Sundays bring together believers united in faith and truth. The mission remains clear: to serve and strengthen our community by leading others to the Christ.

What carries forward

Our foundation in faith

Since our beginning, Spirit Filled Nation Ministries has held fast to core convictions that guide every decision we make. Our commitment to biblical truth and genuine spiritual growth has shaped who we are and how we serve our community.

Read our full values

Scripture first, alwaysWe let the Bible set the agenda, not the news cycle or the trends. It has carried Christians for two thousand years and it will carry us too.
Hospitality as worshipEvery meal, every open door, every awkward "come sit by me" is part of how we worship. The table is a sanctuary.
Serving community faithfullyWe are not trying to be a famous church. We are trying to be a useful one, right here, to the neighbors God has given us in Beach City, Ohio.
